Our Farm and practices
Our farm is located at the base of the North Mountain on a knoll, overlooking Granville Centre and the Annapolis River in Nova Scotia.
We grow a diverse range of certified organic vegetables, herbs and fruits with an emphasis on unique and traditional varieties.
We take great pride in producing high quality certified organic nutritious vegetables for our community.
We have been Certified Organic through EcoCert Canada since 2019. For decades our fields were used for hay and grazing cattle before we became stewards of the land in 2017.
Being certified organic means we use natural processes and materials to grow our crops while promoting ecological balance and preserving biodiversity. We are committed above and beyond the guidelines for organic certification through practices such as minimizing the use of fossil fuels, avoidance of even organic pesticides and creating habitat for the wildlife and pollinators.
We believe in building and maintaining fertility through cover croping, compost, vermicompost, extracts, and natural mulches.
We are stewards of the land and and will always strive to keep the land productive for many future generations to come.
